Sorbact is considered ineffective in addressing biofilm in wounds. How can this be managed?
This is not correct. Malone in 2023 provided evidence that Sorbact binds biofilm. In addition, publications by Mosti and Kammerlander provided evidence that Sorbact is effective in the management of wound infections where biofilm is most likely to be present. apart form this, guidelines such as the IWII of 2022 recommend regular debridement for at least 4 weeks. Physical debridement is the most effective way to reduce biofilm. Sorbact offers a choice between dressing changes and debridement procedures.
