How does the hydrophobic technology make bacteria to anchor on the surface?
The surface of the Sorbact mesh is coated with DACC (dialkylcarbamoyl chloride). This special coating remains on the surface and does not penetrate into the wound. However, the coating creates a highly hydrophobic surface. Bacteria, fungi and endotoxins are also hydrophobic. Due to the principle of hydrophobicity, bacteria, fungi and endotoxins anchor to the surface and are irreversibly bound.
