How can silver and Sorbact be used in combination for wound care?
Of course, you can combine the two products. But this is a waste of money and not very convincing. Both dressings are indicated to treat infections. Both are effective, but there is no evidence that the combination is more effective than either product alone. Sorbact is superior to silver dressings, at least in our eyes. If your customer is reluctant to use Sorbact on a severely infected diabetic foot ulcer and prefers to use Acticoat, for example, recommend that to change Acticoat after 14 days. Silver dressings are primarily recommended for a 2 week treatment period. However, infection management in DFUs often takes longer than 2 weeks. Start to persuade him to use Sorbact after this period. Later he may have gained more confidence and start using Sorbact from day 0.
