Can Cutimed Sorbact reduce odor?

Odors are caused by bacteria. Sorbact® reduces the bacterial load through a physical mode of action. Therefore, the odor will disappear as the bacterial load is reduced. If the odor comes from necrotic tissue, debridement is necessary.

There are dressings available that bind the bad odor with activated carbon, but they do not reduce the cause of the odor, the bacteria. In the worst cases, either a combination of activated charcoal dressings and Sorbact® or NPWT in combination with Sorbact® is recommended.
